Kavodax has officially graduated from the Landing-Pad Accelerator Program (LPAP) at Spark Centre — and walked away with a $10,000 Program Graduation Grant, funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and supported by Canada.
This one wasn’t easy. And honestly? That’s exactly the point.
What Is LPAP?
The Landing-Pad Accelerator Program is a cohort-based accelerator run by Spark Centre at Durham College, designed specifically for newcomer and female entrepreneurs building businesses across Eastern Ontario. It’s one of the few programs in the region that combines real funding, structured programming, and hands-on mentorship — all focused on founders who are often underserved by traditional startup ecosystems.
When we joined LPAP back in the fall of 2025, we knew it would push us. What we didn’t fully anticipate was just how much structure, accountability, and honest feedback the program would demand.
What We Built During the Program
Over the course of LPAP, the Kavodax team worked through some of the most important foundations of our business:
Go-to-Market Strategy We mapped our ideal customer profile, refined our positioning for SME market, and built out a repeatable sales process for B2B outreach. We came in with a product. We left with a motion.
Sales Infrastructure We developed our outreach sequences, messaging frameworks, and lead qualification process. This work directly informed how we approach prospective clients sending money internationally who are losing margin to hidden FX fees and slow wire transfers.
Hiring and Team Building We worked through how to hire intentionally at an early stage — what roles matter most, how to evaluate candidates, and how to build a team that reflects the communities we serve.
Office Space and Community LPAP gave us access to a physical workspace and connected us with a cohort of fellow founders navigating similar challenges. The community built through this program is something we’ll carry well beyond graduation.
The $10,000 Program Graduation Grant
Completing the program comes with a $10,000 Program Graduation Grant from Spark Centre — made possible through funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario and the Government of Canada.
This isn’t just a number. For an early-stage startup, $10,000 in non-dilutive capital is real runway. It goes toward product development, customer acquisition, and continuing to build the infrastructure that Canadian businesses need to move money globally without friction.
