Celebrating a year of growth and innovation, Kavodax makes international payments faster, fairer, and more accessible for Canadian businesses and families.

TORONTO, ON | January 09, 2025 — Kavodax, Canada’s first stablecoin-powered platform for fast and transparent cross-border payments, is wrapping up a breakout first year, marked by international expansion, industry recognition, and the successful launch of its platform in more than 30 countries.

Kavodax was built to solve real problems that have long frustrated Canadian businesses and families. Traditional bank transfers can take three to five days to settle, foreign exchange spreads quietly erode profits, and hidden fees often go unnoticed. These challenges have created unnecessary stress for SMEs managing payroll, suppliers, and global operations, as well as for individuals sending money to family abroad.

Founded in 2025 to tackle the frustrations of slow, expensive, and opaque international transfers, Kavodax has quickly gained attention as one of Canada’s most promising fintech startups. Its platform allows individuals and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to move money across borders in minutes, with upfront FX rates, transparent fees, and real-time tracking at every step.

“This year was all about proving that cross-border payments don’t have to be complicated, slow, or expensive,” says Gharsa Amin, Founder and CEO of Kavodax. “When we talk to Canadian businesses, what stands out most is their excitement—and relief—at knowing there’s a Canadian fintech company helping them think bigger and go global. Kavodax was built not just to make international payments faster and more affordable, but to create a different reality for businesses that want to trade beyond our borders. With the platform now live across Europe and Latin America, and expansion into Africa underway, we’re opening up new, meaningful opportunities for Canadian companies to do business around the world.”

Over the past year, Kavodax has achieved milestones that underscore its growing role in Canada’s fintech ecosystem. The company officially launched its platform, enabling Canadians to send money to more than 30 countries using modern, stablecoin-powered infrastructure designed to eliminate hidden fees and middlemen. The company’s innovation and impact have been recognized across the industry. Kavodax won the Africa Economic Summit Pitch Competition, secured highly competitive grants from the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), and received $25,000 in grant funding from IPON to protect its core intellectual property.

The company was also accepted into the Landing Pad Accelerator Program through Spark Innovation Centre, a selective initiative that provides $20,000 in grant funding and matching support to high-potential startups. In addition, Kavodax was acknowledged by the Black Advisory Hub for its leadership and vision, joined the Capital Angel Network’s CANLAB 25 cohort for hands-on mentorship from experienced investors, and was named one of the top five startups at the EmpowerHer 2025 Showcase, where it pitched to an audience that included the Minister of AI and Economic Development.

In addition to solving speed and cost challenges, Kavodax was built to simplify compliance and auditing for SMEs. Managing documentation for audits can be time-consuming and risky, with traditional systems leaving businesses vulnerable to errors and delays. By leveraging stablecoins and advanced blockchain technology, Kavodax provides audit-ready records and keeps financial data organized and secure. Every transaction is traceable and transparent, giving businesses confidence that their payments meet regulatory standards while reducing the administrative burden on their teams.

“Kavodax is setting a new standard for how Canadians move money across borders,” Amin adds. “Our mission is to make Canadian businesses globally competitive. Every business, no matter the size, deserves access to reliable, compliant, and modern payment tools, and that’s exactly what we’re building.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Kavodax plans to expand into additional global corridors, including a launch into nine African countries, introduce new tools tailored for SMEs, and strengthen integrations with accounting, payroll, and trade platforms. The company is onboarding eight top university interns in media marketing and software engineering, and is entering into a partnership with Mitacs to pursue critical technology development initiatives with institutional support. Strategic partnerships with key players are also enabling Kavodax to acquire its first pilot customers, with test transactions already underway to validate the platform’s performance globally.
